✦ ORIGIN STORY ✦
MEET THE TEAM
One family. One mission. Every role matters.
Extra Life didn't begin with funding or a business plan. It began with family, purpose, and a shared belief that no one should have to fight their hardest battles alone.

THEIR STORIES
This team didn't come together by accident. Most of them grew up together — cousins, siblings, lifelong friends. They carry different roles, different gifts, and different roads that led them here. But they all arrived at the same place, standing for the same thing.
Andrew
Co-Founder · CEO / President
Personally struggling with mental health pretty much my whole life, I never got the chance to really look and find help. I come from a long history of mental health and trauma through the bloodline, but once I found a career that offered free mental health services, it opened a new door for me to start looking around and healing. I have always been an advocate for mental health — from trauma in my past, to anxiety, depression, and multiple suicide attempts. I never wanted anyone to feel the way I have felt.
Going through a real transformation period, Billy asked me if I was genuinely okay. And I actually was — but he was determined to get my mind on something for him to 3D print and sell in his store as "Andrew's version" of a product. But I had a bigger picture. I thought, why don't I take all of my gifts and passions and roll them into one? I pitched the idea of the NFC hearts to Billy and he instantly got to work. It has all blown up from there. Having something that pulls all the information you are looking for together, and giving you transparency — especially in the time of crisis? That, that is what makes Extra Life Project what it is.
Billy
Co-Founder · CFO / Treasurer
Growing up, I always wanted to help people. It has just always been a part of who I am. Over the years, I have seen so many people around me struggle with mental health issues. I've seen people who were hurting, feeling down, or going through things that others may not have even known about.
One of the hardest things I've seen is people who needed help but, for whatever reason, just wouldn't reach out for it. Sometimes they didn't know where to go. Sometimes they didn't want anyone to know they were struggling. And sometimes taking that first step and asking for help was simply too difficult.
I have lost friends, and I have watched people I care about deteriorate while struggling with their mental health. I've also seen how much it can affect the family and friends around them. Those experiences have stuck with me, and they are a big reason why I wanted to help start Extra Life Project.
I don't expect us to fix everything, and I know we can't solve every problem. What I do believe is that we can help make it easier for someone to find the support and resources they need.
If Extra Life Project can help someone take that first step, find someone to talk to, or realize that help is available, then what we are doing is worth it.
Sometimes people just need a place to start. I want Extra Life Project to be that place.

Secretary
I decided to join Extra Life Project because I believe in the heart behind it. Life can get heavy, and sometimes the hardest part is simply knowing where to turn — or feeling like someone cares enough to help you find your next step. I love the idea of creating something that can make that connection a little easier and remind someone that they don't have to figure everything out alone. If what we're building helps even one person find support when they need it, that's something I want to be a part of.
Brandi
Director of Community Outreach & Partnerships
My name is Brandi Black. I joined the Extra Life Project in the beginning stages because this cause and mission instantly pulled on the strings of my heart. I have struggled with my own mental health battle for most of my life. I wish that in my most isolating moments, in the darkest places, I had had access to the information and support that this movement is attempting to present to everyone. I would like to think that it wouldn't have taken me this long to become my own success story.
I have been in therapy for almost 2 years now. I have learned that growth and mental health is not linear and it's pivotal to reach out and ask for help when you need it. I am several years free now of self-harm. I found my checkpoint and have learned who my save points are.
You are not a random NPC. (For those who aren't gamers — NPC stands for Non-Player Character, a background character with no story of their own. That is NOT you.) You are the main character in the game of life. Let's turn this into the most exciting and beautiful adventure we possibly can!
Christiana
Director of Media & Communications
I joined the Extra Life Project because I know what it feels like to struggle with depression and anxiety. It's something I've faced for most of my life, and I know how lonely, overwhelming, and exhausting those moments can feel.
I don't want anyone to ever feel the things I've felt — alone, hopeless, unheard, or like they have nowhere to turn.
I want to take some of my hardest experiences and turn them into something that can help someone else. I want to remind people that their struggles don't define them, that asking for help is okay, and that they don't have to face everything alone.
If I can make even one person feel a little less alone, remind someone that they matter, or help someone find a reason to keep going — then being part of the Extra Life Project is worth it to me. I'm here because I've been there.
Brandon
Head of Security Operations
I joined the Extra Life Project because I have personally been affected by losing someone who fought with mental health issues. If I can be a small difference in helping others win their battle with mental health, that would be awesome — because I wasn't able to help my best friend win his.
Tommy
Director of EHS
I'm Tommy McPheron. As a volunteer firefighter, I've become involved in the Extra Life Project as a way to help people who are struggling even more. I have seen firsthand the effects of people struggling — whether it be with mental health, family issues, and/or life struggles. At the Extra Life Project, I get to be a part of something that goes beyond the call, to help those in need even more.
Harlee
Social Media Manager
I'm Harlee McPheron. I became part of the Extra Life Project family to show people who are struggling that they are not alone. It fills my heart to have a way for people to find the help they need. I've witnessed friends struggle — from family struggles to depression, and even suicide. If we can help even one person connect to the help they need, or realize they matter, then I say that is a win!
Bridget
Social Media Manager
I joined the Extra Life Project because mental health is a big part of my life. I struggle with it and have been since a young age. I know what it's like not knowing how to get help or even where to start — honestly, I felt like there never was any. It took me years to learn that talking helps. Extra Life Project has helped me seek the help that works for me, and I hope it does the same for everyone else who struggles.
I help people — that's who I am. I will always help others before anything, as long as that means they feel seen. My goal is to reach as many people as possible and help all those who seek it. My life motto that I live by is truly: live, laugh, love. Live your life to the fullest, laugh with the right people, love yourself before others. Life is truly a blessing and I am blessed to still be here today. We make it easy to find the proper support needed — now it's my turn to help others.
Most of this team grew up together — cousins, siblings, lifelong friends who became family. They came from different places spiritually, emotionally, and in life. But they all found their way to the same mission. That's not a coincidence. That's what it looks like when something is bigger than any one person.
